Mountain Escape All Inclusive Getaway Vacation Package - $1095.00

If your idea of a vacation is having a gourmet meal for dinner every evening, luxury linens to sink into as you drift off to sleep and waking to the aroma of fresh baked cinnamon rolls and a freshly prepared country breakfast served with a cup of steaming hot specialty blend coffee, then our Mountain Escape All Inclusive Getaway Package is for you.

Begin your escape on Sunday
afternoon by taking a leisure drive to the northeast region of the state.  Check in is at 3:00 pm giving you ample time to settle in, shake off the hurriedness of city life and prepare yourself to relax, restore and be rejuvenated.fire pit    Your first evening begins with dinner in our regionally acclaimed restaurant where you will enjoy a 3 course dinner of your choice from our popular menu, then retire to the porches to rock a while as dusk turns into night, or perhaps venture out to the fire pit for a bit of star gazing by the fire before turning in.

Day Two – Discovering the Sautee community.   Following a hearty Glen-Ella breakfast, we send you off on a short 30 minute drive to visit the “Old Sautee General Store” established in 1872.   Noted as a northeast Georgia landmark, the store features a collection of unique gifts, candies, apparel and more.  In the Sautee community there are a number of art galleries and shops suitable for all ages you will want to be sure and visit.   After a little shopping, you may be ready for a bite to eat so we’ve included a $20.00 voucher to be redeemed at a great little soup and sandwich shop adjacent to the general store.   Two admission tickets to visit the Folk Pottery Museum just around the corner from the sandwich shop and next to the Sautee Nacoochee Arts Center are included in your package.  This is an extremely well done exhibition and a true introduction into the history of folk pottery in the mountains.  After the museum, we’ll direct you on to Nacoochee Valley where you’ll visit Habersham Winery for a complimentary wine tasting and winery tour, followed by a walk across the street to Nora Mills, a historic and operational gristmill originally constructed in 1872, producing stone ground corn and wheat based products.  If time allows there is another great shop we like to recommend unique to our region, which is the “Gourd Place”, another example of the many creative decorative arts available in the mountains.   At the end of the day, you’ll return to the Inn, where once again you will be served a 3 course gourmet dinner.
Trail ride
Day Three
-
Following breakfast, we will have a picnic boxed lunch prepared and ready for you to take along as you head out to Sunburst Stables (just 30 minutes away) for a 2 hour mountain trail ride.  The ride will meander along rhododendron lined trails, and allow you to view mountain vistas as well as possibly discover wild life such as wild turkeys and deer.    If it’s been a while since you’ve ridden a horse, a relaxing afternoon by the pool may be just what the doctor ordered when the ride is over.   If more adventure is in desired, we’ll direct you to several hiking areas with beautiful waterfalls all within a short driving distance of the Inn.  Long walks and afternoon naps with lots of fresh mountain air tend to work up one’s appetite.   Dinner will be served at your preferred time in the dining room.

Day Four -
You’re off to Rabun County, to Tallulah Gorge State Park.  This 1000 foot cavern is considered one of the south’s natural wonders and a spectacular site to visit.Tallulah Gorge  The park’s interpretative center is filled with information and artifacts as well as a short film of the history of the gorge.  Park rangers are happy to suggest overlooks geared to your particular level of desired hiking or if a short walk is all you’re after.  After your visit to Tallulah Gorge State Park, we recommend a short drive south to the community of Clarkesville via Historic  441.  Clarkesville has several shops in the downtown square area and along the way you may want to include a stop at the Old Clarkesville Mill if you enjoy antique malls.  Consider taking a “walking tour” of the many historic homes in downtown Clarkesville to capture the true essence of its rich history.   If you venture north from Tallulah Gorge State Park you can visit the charming little town of Clayton, GA where again the downtown area has several galleries, specialty stores and restaurants.  Lunch is on your own and either city has an abundance of restaurants from which to choose.

Artists abound across the mountains and the many local galleries all feature their creative works.  You will find one of a kind treasures such as pottery, paintings, jewelry, wood turnings and more.   Either way, you are sure to enjoy the afternoon exploring both of these mountain communities.   Then of course, it is back to Glen-Ella for the evening where once again, you will be able to choose from one of our many signature entrees for your evening meal.
